Emirates Airline President Tim Clark expressed confidence in Boeing's business strategy to expand the 777X model, despite current efforts focused on certification. Speaking at the Dubai Airshow, Clark confirmed that there were no additional orders placed for the 777X after Emirates' recent agreement to purchase 65 more jets.

Boeing announced on Sunday its intention to explore a stretched version of the delayed 777X aircraft. Clark dismissed rumors of Emirates considering Airbus A350-1000 planes, emphasizing that it was never in their plans. Historically, Boeing's 777 and Airbus's A350 series have taken the place of four-engine jumbos in the aviation industry.

At the previous Dubai Airshow in 2023, Airbus failed to secure sales of the A350-1000 with Emirates due to concerns about the maintenance performance of Rolls-Royce's engine, leading Emirates to go for the A350-900. Clark praised the A350-900 and hinted at future orders. Despite several delays, Clark remains optimistic about the 777X, stating it will eventually succeed. Boeing, facing setbacks and financial strain, recently reported a delay pushing 777X deliveries to 2027 but has gained regulatory approval toward certification.
