Nagaland's Cooperation Minister, Jacob Zhimomi, underscored the pivotal role of cooperatives in India's journey towards self-reliance at the inaugural Nagaland Cooperative Conclave on Tuesday.
As major contributors to economic development, cooperatives remain underappreciated 'silent workers', Zhimomi remarked, highlighting the government's mission to foster economic growth among all communities through cooperative expansion.
Encouraging youth involvement, Zhimomi advocated for the enhancement of cooperative structures, diversification into emerging areas like tourism, and the importance of the 'vocal for local' initiative. An MoU was signed to enhance cooperative activities in Nagaland.
