Southern Railway Launches Special Trains Amid Flight Disruptions
The Southern Railway has announced special trains and additional coaches to manage increased passenger traffic due to nationwide flight disruptions. Special services will operate between Chennai Egmore and Charlapalli, and Secunderabad. Selected long-distance trains will be augmented with extra coaches from December 6 to 10.

In response to the ongoing flight disruptions across the country, Southern Railway has taken proactive measures by introducing special train services, aiming to alleviate the passenger traffic surge.
Special train connections will be launched between Chennai Egmore and Charlapalli, with another service between Secunderabad and Chennai Egmore. This move is designed to accommodate travelers left stranded by flight cancellations.
Additional coaches will also be added to select long-distance trains, including the Tiruchchirappalli – Jodhpur and the Doctor MGR Chennai Central – Thiruvananthapuram routes, to cope with increased demand from December 6 to 10.
