The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) announced plans to run special trains to accommodate passenger overflow amidst widespread flight disruptions led by IndiGo, the airline's largest in the nation. NFR's Chief Public Relations Officer, Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, conveyed this update on Sunday.

In addition to introducing new trains, NFR will attach extra coaches across different classes to existing services. The proactive move was necessitated due to numerous cancellations by IndiGo, a result of severe operational disruptions caused primarily by crew shortages.

Please note that one special train will run from Dibrugarh to New Delhi, and another from Guwahati to Howrah on Monday. Twenty coaches will be added to 18 trains serving various routes to facilitate the clearance of passenger rush, according to Sharma.
