Tragedy on Tracks: Goods Train Hits Group in Jabalpur
A woman and a four-year-old boy died, while four others were injured after being struck by a goods train at Madan Mahal station in Jabalpur. A tragic incident unfolded at Madan Mahal railway station in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, when a goods train struck a group of women and children crossing the tracks, leading to the deaths of a woman and a four-year-old boy.
The accident took place at 10.50 pm on Saturday as the group moved from platform 1 to platform 2 after alighting from the Rani Kamalapati-Madan Mahal Janshatabdi Express. Despite timely medical assistance, victims Pushpa Soni and young Rajveer Patel succumbed to their injuries at a nearby hospital.
The locally based Government Railway Police have registered the case as an accidental death, stating that some victims had previously worked with the Railways. The incident serves as a grave reminder of railway safety lapses.
