IndiGo, India's largest airline, is on a recovery trajectory after significant disruptions to its flight schedule. CEO Pieter Elbers revealed in a video message that the airline aims to operate 1,650 flights on Sunday, improving from its recent low of 700 flights on Friday.
Elbers addressed staff, emphasizing that the company's On Time Performance (OTP) is expected to improve to 75%. The airline, which usually operates around 2,300 flights daily, saw cancellations and delays affecting passengers nationwide last week.
Proactive measures were taken to communicate cancellations earlier to prevent passengers from unnecessary airport visits. Remarkably, 137 of 138 destinations were back in operation by December 7, a substantial recovery after recent challenges.
