A devastating bus crash in central Iran resulted in the deaths of 13 individuals and left more than a dozen others injured, as reported by the state-run IRNA news agency.
The accident occurred late Monday as the bus made its way from Isfahan to Mashhad. After striking the highway's central guardrail, the vehicle crossed into the opposite lane, hit a taxi, and finally flipped over. Eleven passengers on the bus and two taxi occupants were killed in the collision, according to police reports.
In the aftermath, emergency units, including ambulances, were swiftly dispatched to the location. Iran's poor road safety, attributed to non-compliance with traffic laws, unsafe vehicles, and inadequate emergency services, results in approximately 20,000 deaths annually, highlighting a critical safety issue.
