The Cable TV equipment trade between India and Bangladesh has encountered significant challenges, attributed to the visa constraints arising from the altered political landscape in Bangladesh. Despite these hurdles, the 26th Cable TV Show 2025, currently underway, witnessed a modest turnout of Bangladeshi delegates following intervention by Indian authorities.

Pawan Jajodia, chairman of the Cable TV Equipment Traders and Manufacturers Association (CTMA), revealed that visa availability impeded usual participation levels, typically numbering around 400 Bangladeshi delegates. After persistent efforts, only about 60 delegates managed to secure visas, casting a shadow on expected trade engagements.

The exhibition underscores the vital role of Bangladesh as a critical market for Indian cable TV equipment, a sentiment echoed by Jajodia. He also noted that Chinese participation has ceased in recent years, further affecting international representation at this key event, now celebrating 30 years of showcasing advancements in the cable television sector.
