IndiGo's CEO Pieter Elbers announced on Thursday that the airline is focusing on resilience, root-cause analysis, and rebuilding. This comes after significant disruptions affected thousands of passengers due to widespread flight cancellations earlier this month.
Elbers, in a message to employees, highlighted that IndiGo's operations have stabilized, and they have restored their network to 2,200 flights. The airline's board has appointed an external aviation expert to conduct a comprehensive analysis to identify the reasons behind these disruptions.
The massive disruptions were attributed to factors such as improper planning and crew shortages, especially after new regulations on pilots' duty were implemented. IndiGo faced severe critiques from passengers and the government, leading to a 10 percent reduction in its winter schedule.
