A record-breaking 51.5 lakh passengers traveled through Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar in 2025, officials announced. This milestone ranked the airport 13th in India for passenger traffic.
The Chief Minister's Office noted on X that this achievement signals Odisha's burgeoning aviation and connectivity growth, thanks to strategic initiatives like the state's B-MAAN and the central UDAN schemes.
BPIA director Prasanna Pradhan highlighted that 2025 saw the highest passenger numbers since its operations began. The airport currently serves 28 destinations while Delhi airport leads with 70 million passengers.
