A freight train from Budaun to Kasganj derailed near Bitroi station in Uttar Pradesh after striking two bulls on the tracks, according to officials on Saturday.

The collision happened during the night between Friday and Saturday, causing significant train operation disruptions on the Bareilly-Budaun-Kasganj line.

Senior Station Master Afsar Hussain explained that the carcasses of the bulls were lodged in the train's wheels, causing the derailment of the first carriage after the engine.

Rail traffic faced several hours of disruption due to repair work delayed by dense fog, Hussain reported.

Train services are now fully operational, with all trains running smoothly on the line, the senior station master confirmed.
