An Assam-based luxury hospitality brand has achieved a significant milestone by securing the catering contract for India's inaugural Vande Bharat Sleeper Train. This marks a first for any Northeast-based hospitality firm in bringing its curated cuisine to a premier overnight train service.

Scheduled to be flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the train will run between Howrah and Guwahati from Malda Town station in North Bengal. Mayfair Spring Valley Resort announced its collaboration with the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) to serve as the official caterer on board.

Passengers can look forward to a range of traditional West Bengal and Assam dishes, made with locally sourced ingredients, reflecting the authentic flavors and culinary heritage of the regions. The menu includes basanti pulao, cholar and moong dal, Assam's joha rice, and regional sweets like sandesh and rasgulla, offering an immersive cultural experience through food.
