Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma hailed the recent India-US trade deal as a 'historic' milestone, emphasizing its benefits for the country's entrepreneurs, farmers, skilled workers, and MSMEs. Sarma praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's efforts in resolving the tariff stalemate with the United States.
The agreement, reached between Modi and former President Donald Trump, involves reducing the U.S. reciprocal tariff on Indian goods from 25% to 18%. Sarma highlighted that this deal would propel India's growth to new heights by opening up the vast U.S. market while protecting India's interests.
Celebrating the breakthrough, Sarma acknowledged the leadership of both Modi and Trump, noting how it elevated India's global standing.
