Meerut is poised to revolutionize urban commuting with its upcoming metro service, the fastest in India, capable of reaching 120 kmph. The 21 km corridor, stretching from Meerut South to Modipuram, aims to cut city travel time to approximately 30 minutes, covering 12 stations.
In a pioneering initiative, Meerut Metro will share tracks and facilities with the semi-high-speed Namo Bharat trains, offering an integrated transport solution. The project will feature cutting-edge trainsets in a striking fluorescent color scheme, designed for energy efficiency and equipped with advanced safety technologies.
With Prime Minister Narendra Modi set to inaugurate, the Meerut Metro promises enhanced connectivity, economic upliftment, and social engagement for the city. It will become the fifth city in Uttar Pradesh to boast a metro system, bringing new momentum to daily commuting and community development.
