Russia's Silent Oil Routes to India Amid Global Tensions

Russia will keep its crude oil export data to India undisclosed, citing security concerns. The decision follows a temporary waiver by the US allowing India to buy Russian oil amid geopolitical conflicts. Russia plans to increase crude shipments to India and China, circumventing the Strait of Hormuz disruptions.

The Kremlin announced that it will not disclose data regarding crude oil exports to India due to concerns about 'too many ill-wishers.' Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov's declaration came just as the US issued a temporary waiver facilitating India's purchase of Russian oil amidst the current geopolitical tensions in West Asia.

Peskov emphasized that providing quantitative data is not on the table, responding to inquiries about Moscow's ability to deliver significant quantities of crude to India soon. Recently, Russian state TV showcased numerous tankers navigating towards Indian refineries on the East Coast from the Arab Sea.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak highlighted Russia's readiness to boost crude shipments to India and China. These countries face oil supply challenges due to US-Israeli strikes on Iran and the strategic complications in the Strait of Hormuz arising from Iran's retaliatory measures.
