Mamata Banerjee Boosts Bengal Youth: Rs 1,500 Allowance for Job Seekers

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced a monthly allowance of Rs 1,500 for unemployed youth who have passed the secondary examination. This initiative, expedited to coincide with International Women's Day, aims to support individuals aged 21–40 years in moving towards self-reliance. The government highlights significant strides in decreasing unemployment and enhancing job opportunities.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has unveiled a financial allowance scheme to help unemployed youths in the state. Starting March 7, eligible individuals aged 21–40 who have cleared the secondary examination will receive Rs 1,500 monthly. This initiative was advanced to coincide with International Women's Day.

Banerjee emphasized her government's achievements in reducing unemployment by 40% and creating extensive job opportunities through skill training programs. The CM noted that 10 lakh out of 40 lakh trained individuals are now employed, and industrial sector collaborations have facilitated employment in various industries, including jute.

Highlighting infrastructure development, Banerjee mentioned the construction of six economic corridors and new power plants. She stressed Bengal's leadership in IT and small-scale industries, while also pointing out future employment prospects in the Deucha Pachami coal reserve. Despite financial constraints, Bengal boasts high GSDP and revenue generation.
