A tragic multi-vehicle collision on the Dehradun-Haridwar National Highway has left one person dead and 15 others injured, including seven children. The accident took place on the Motichur flyover near Hotel Godwin when a Roadways bus collided with a tractor trolley, triggering a series of crashes involving a Scorpio and two more vehicles.
The horrific aftermath included an explosion, likely from a CNG cylinder, which set vehicles ablaze, creating panic among the people trapped in the vicinity. Witnesses reported thick smoke billowing up from the scene as firefighters worked swiftly to extinguish the flames and rescue victims.
Authorities identified the deceased as Kusum, a 30-year-old resident of Najibabad, who was crushed in the incident. Those injured were transported to a nearby hospital. The crash resulted in a kilometer-long traffic snarl, which took hours to clear, affecting several residents of Uttar Pradesh returning from the Jhanda Mela in Dehradun.
