The LPG supply scarcity in Karnataka is now placing the future of Indira Canteens, a project initiated by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, in jeopardy, the municipal body sources stated on Thursday.

With approximately 180 canteens serving the urban impoverished at subsidized rates, these canteens are facing potential disruptions due to the Iran-Israel-US conflict affecting LPG supply.

Sources from the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) reported attempts to address vendor concerns about the ongoing LPG crisis with the government, emphasizing the need to maintain the canteens for the urban poor reliant on these services.
