IndiGo announced on Wednesday that it will implement revised fuel charges on both domestic and international flights, starting April 2. The changes come as a response to rising aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices.
The airline, India's largest, stated that the new charges would range from Rs 275 to Rs 10,000, depending on the distance of travel. This adjustment follows a partial hike in ATF prices by 25% for domestic flights, which saw fuel charges increase significantly for international journeys as well.
IndiGo emphasized that the revised charges seek to balance the recent cost increases with customer affordability, passing on only a smaller fraction of the added costs to travelers.
