Union Minister Nitin Gadkari emphasized the necessity of fostering employment in rural and tribal areas to curb migration towards metropolitan hubs. Speaking at the Save the Earth Conclave, he spotlighted the dire economic conditions faced by farmers in villages, urging immediate action to provide local job opportunities.

Gadkari underscored the critical migration issue, mentioning that lack of jobs drives youth and farmers toward cities like Delhi and Mumbai. He called for a major shift in the agricultural sector, prompting farmers to transition from being solely food producers to energy providers, a move that could be transformative.

The Minister also addressed the urgent need to boost alternative fuel production, citing environmental and economic benefits. He highlighted the potential of bamboo cultivation to generate millions of jobs and pointed out the economic impact of international market forces on local agriculture prices.
