European budget carrier Wizz Air announces expansion of summer schedule

​The ​boss ‌of Wizz Air ​said on Monday that ‌the European budget airline's summer schedule would be 17% larger ‌this year compared ‌to last, with growth focused on the Balkans and ⁠Caucasus ​markets.

Jozsef ⁠Varadi, CEO of Hungary-headquartered Wizz, ⁠told reporters at a briefing ​that the airline was 70% ⁠hedged for its fuel needs ⁠for ​the coming summer period and would ⁠receive 35 new Airbus aircraft ⁠during ⁠2026.
