Vodafone Idea's AGR Dues Revised, Gets Substantial Relief
The Department of Telecommunications has slashed Vodafone Idea's Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR) dues from Rs 87,695 crore to Rs 64,046 crore as of December 2025. This reduction follows a Supreme Court-backed review and aims to ensure Vodafone Idea's survival in a competitive telecom market.
In a significant development for the telecom sector, Vodafone Idea's Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR) dues have been recalculated to Rs 64,046 crore, providing crucial financial relief to the beleaguered company. This substantial reduction from the previous Rs 87,695 crore was confirmed by the Department of Telecommunications.
The revision comes after a DoT-appointed committee conducted a detailed review, as permitted by the Supreme Court. This move aims to stabilize Vodafone Idea amidst ongoing financial challenges while supporting competitive dynamics in the telecom market.
The decision by the Union Cabinet to reschedule payments reflects concerns about maintaining consumer choice and service quality in the telecom sector. The adjusted payment plan stretches from FY 2031-32 to FY 2040-41, ensuring a smoother fiscal path for Vodafone Idea's AGR obligations.
