The much-anticipated 'Missing Link' project on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway was unveiled on Friday, only to be marred by traffic congestion on both carriageways. This led Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to apologize to frustrated commuters, including Supriya Sule, a Lok Sabha MP who was stuck for two hours.
Fadnavis assured improvements post-inauguration, emphasizing that the project would eliminate future delays between the two cities. He highlighted the completion of the 13.3-km link by the BJP-led Mahayuti government, contrasting it with the previous administration's stalled efforts.
The 'Missing Link' aims to significantly ease travel with two tunnels, two viaducts, and a cable-stayed bridge, enhancing the 94-km expressway's efficiency while reducing congestion in accident-prone areas.
