BCCL Agrees to Compensation for Coal Slurry Tragedy Victims
Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) has agreed to provide Rs 20 lakh in compensation and job guarantees to the families of four workers who tragically perished in a coal slurry mishap at Moonidih Coal Washery. A four-member panel will investigate to prevent similar incidents.

Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) has committed to compensating the families of four workers who died in a coal slurry accident in Dhanbad. As part of the agreement, each family will receive Rs 20 lakh, divided between BCCL and the delivery order holder, and a job offer from an outsourced agency.
In addition to financial compensation, Rs 75,000 will be given for the deceased's last rites. A probe committee has been established to examine the incident and recommend preventive measures against future occurrences. The tragic event took place when a large coal slurry chunk buried the workers during loading operations.
The local community has responded with protests, urging accountability for the incident. Authorities have promised a thorough investigation to ensure safer working conditions, as mourners continue to demand justice for the deceased workers.
