Andhra Pradesh Implements Digital Strategy to Boost Property Tax Collections

Andhra Pradesh urban local bodies collected Rs 1,010.7 crore in property tax this April, a 24.1% increase from last year, using advanced mapping and digital tools. This strategy, led by Principal Secretary S Suresh Kumar, aims for transparency and higher efficiency in tax collection, enhancing civic infrastructure.

Andhra Pradesh has reported a significant boost in property tax collections, rising to Rs 1,010.7 crore in April, marking a 24.1% increase from the previous year.

The use of Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping, drone surveys, and digital dashboards contributed to this success, according to Municipal Administration and Urban Development Principal Secretary S Suresh Kumar.

The government remains committed to a transparent and accountable municipal revenue system, utilizing technology for verification and simplifying payment processes to encourage compliance.
