Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has called for an immediate rollback of the recent significant hike in LPG prices, which he claims has considerably burdened ordinary citizens and small businesses.

Labeling the price increase as one of the harshest in history, Vijayan highlighted the Rs 993 rise for commercial cylinders, pushing rates over Rs 3,000 and impacting the hotel and restaurant industry adversely.

The chief minister further criticized the timing of the price hike, alleging it aligned with electoral events, adding financial strain amid rising global energy costs due to Middle East conflicts.
