JLR India Slashes Prices: Range Rover Models Benefit from India-UK FTA
JLR India reduces prices of Range Rover models imported from the UK by up to Rs 75 lakh, in anticipation of the India-UK FTA. The price cuts apply to Range Rover SV and Range Rover Sport SV models, reflecting the new duty benefits. Locally manufactured models remain unaffected.
In a significant move, JLR India announced a price reduction on its Range Rover completely built unit models imported from the UK, slashing costs by up to Rs 75 lakh. This strategic step comes in anticipation of the India-UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and affects key models such as the Range Rover SV and Range Rover Sport SV.
According to JLR India, the revised prices are a result of the anticipated new duty structure facilitated by the FTA. The Range Rover SV's price now starts at Rs 3.5 crore, down from Rs 4.25 crore, while the Range Rover Sport SV is reduced to Rs 2.35 crore from Rs 2.75 crore. Rajan Amba, JLR India's Managing Director, emphasized the company's commitment to its customers by passing on the anticipated benefits of the FTA.
The price adjustments are effective immediately, though the company clarified that locally manufactured models will not see any changes in pricing. Models like the Defender and Discovery, manufactured in Slovakia, also remain unaffected by this FTA, being outside the current agreement's jurisdiction.
