India's Highway Revolution: Unveiling the First Multi-Lane Free Flow Tolling System
India has introduced its first multi-lane free flow (MLFF) tolling system at the Choryasi Toll Plaza in Gujarat, enabling seamless toll collection without vehicles stopping. This system uses technologies like ANPR and FASTag to boost efficiency, reduce congestion, and lower emissions, marking a significant advancement in highway infrastructure.
The Indian Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has unveiled a groundbreaking advancement in tolling infrastructure. Launching at the Choryasi Toll Plaza on NH-48 in Gujarat, India's first multi-lane free flow (MLFF) tolling system marks a significant shift in how highways handle toll collections.
This innovative system eliminates the need for vehicles to stop at toll booths, deploying Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) and FASTag technology to facilitate seamless transactions. Initiated by the Indian Highways Management Company Limited, with support from ICICI Bank, the system is poised to transform toll collection across the nation.
By prioritizing uninterrupted traffic flow, operational efficiency, and environmental benefits, the MLFF tolling system represents a smart, cost-effective, and sustainable solution. E-notices ensure compliance, further enhancing this high-integrity, transparent process for India's highway network.
