Arunachal Pradesh Boosts DA and DR for Employees and Pensioners
The Arunachal Pradesh government has announced a 2% increase in Dearness Allowance for employees and Dearness Relief for pensioners, effective January 2026. Affecting over 69,000 employees and 40,000 pensioners, the changes will cost Rs 100.54 crore annually. Arrears till April will be paid in cash.

The Arunachal Pradesh government has acted to improve the financial conditions of its workforce by increasing the Dearness Allowance (DA) for active employees and Dearness Relief (DR) for pensioners by 2%. Implemented from January 1, 2026, this decision elevates the rates to 60% of the basic pay/pension.
This adjustment is in line with the central government’s policies concerning its employees. The changes apply to All India Service Officers working in the state, central employees deputed to Arunachal Pradesh, and regular state government workers, benefiting a total of 69,248 employees and 40,477 pensioners.
The financial burden due to this augmentation is projected at Rs 100.54 crore annually, with Rs 33.51 crore allocated for arrears from January to April 2026. Chief Minister Pema Khandu praised the state's employees, urging them to continue delivering quality service.
