A fire erupted at Mumbai's T2 Airport Metro Station in Andheri (East) on Wednesday, causing authorities to swiftly evacuate passengers. Fortunately, no injuries occurred in the incident that took place at 4:10 PM.
The unexpected blaze, which originated in the station's technical room, temporarily disrupted metro services on the Aqua Line 3 between Aarey JVLR and Cuffe Parade. A civic official reported that emergency teams, including three fire engines and two jumbo tankers, swiftly responded to the situation, bringing the fire under control by 4:30 PM.
Despite the incident's seriousness, the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) stressed it as a ''minor smoke incident'' and assured passengers that all safety protocols were diligently followed. Normal operations resumed shortly after, with metro services briefly affected between Sahar Road and Aarey stations.
