In an announcement that promises significant changes for Arunachal Pradesh, Chief Minister Pema Khandu has voiced his appreciation for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the central government's new 'Pride of Hills' initiative. This scheme brings an allocation of Rs 4,900 crore to the state.

The initiative aims to bridge critical infrastructure gaps across the Himalayan and hill states, focusing on boosting connectivity and creating long-term economic development in remote areas. Pema Khandu highlighted the allocation as a vital step forward, describing it as a 'major boost' for the state's future.

Launched under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment framework, 'Pride of Hills' sets aside a total outlay of Rs 25,000 crore for nine states, with Arunachal Pradesh receiving the largest share. This allocation is expected to improve fiscal stability, increase infrastructure investment, and support major development projects.
