A major disruption occurred on the Mumbai-Delhi rail corridor when a fire broke out in a Rajdhani Express near Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh. Several trains faced delays, but no casualties were reported. The situation is being handled with urgency as officials work on restoring normal operations.

The fire erupted at approximately 5:15 am in an AC coach of the Delhi-bound Thiruvananthapuram-Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express, impacting eight to ten passenger trains, according to Lakit Kumar Dhurandar, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Kota division, who spoke to PTI.

Efforts are underway to repair the overhead equipment on a priority basis. The affected coach was evacuated within 15 minutes, ensuring the safety of 68 passengers. The source of the fire is being investigated, with the coach detached and the electric supply turned off to maintain safety.
