In a tragic incident on Monday, seven people, including a two-month-old infant, lost their lives in a head-on collision between a truck and an auto-rickshaw in Bihar's Khagaria district. The accident occurred on National Highway-31, said the police.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Mukul Kumar Ranjan confirmed that all the deceased were passengers in the auto-rickshaw, which was severely impacted by the crash. Four additional passengers sustained injuries and were transported to a government hospital for treatment.

Bihar's Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary expressed his condolences, pledging a compensation of Rs 4 lakh to the families of the deceased. He has also directed officials to provide necessary medical care for the injured.
