A fire broke out at a decorative ''pyro'' fireworks shop located in a building in Madhya Pradesh's Indore on Tuesday and spread to a nearby automobile garage, some vehicles and outer part of a gym located on the upper floor, officials said.

No casualties were reported in the incident, they said.

Pyro or cold fireworks create decorative fire effects using relatively cooler sparks.

The fire broke out due to unknown reasons at the pyro fireworks shop in Tejaji Nagar area and soon spread to the adjacent automobile garage and parked vehicles, the officials said.

Flames also reached the outer glass panels of the gym situated on the upper floor of the building, but the fire was brought under control in time, preventing major damage to the gym, they said.

Eyewitnesses said vehicles belonging to people who had come to the gym for workout, including a car, were damaged in the blaze.

Mohammad Hussain, a youth present at the spot, told PTI, ''We came to the gym for exercise. But we saw massive flames rising from the lower floor. My two-wheeler, which was parked downstairs, was completely gutted in the fire.''.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Narendra Rawat said the blaze had been extinguished and the cause of the fire was being investigated.

Nobody was injured in the incident, he said.

Documents related to the pyro fireworks shop were being examined and appropriate legal action would be taken if any irregularity was found, Rawat said.
