BP Boardroom Battle: Manifold vs. Henry

In a dramatic turn of events, BP has removed its chairman Albert Manifold from his position following a contentious dispute with fellow director Simon Henry earlier this year. The clash, centered around the handling of sensitive deal talks, was reported by The Wall Street Journal.

Manifold allegedly accused Henry of overstepping his authority and excluding other directors, claims that Henry has denied, arguing instead that Manifold mischaracterized the conversations. Henry, who joined the company in September, was reportedly among those serving under Manifold as the board membership dwindled.

The Journal further noted tensions between Manifold and ex-CEO Murray Auchincloss last year. Neither BP, Manifold, Henry, nor Auchincloss provided comments to Reuters at the time of the report's release.
