Rwanda’s President Paul Kagame signs multiple bilateral agreements with Emir of Qatar

Rwanda and Qatar signed four cooperation agreements on April 21. President of Rwanda, Paul Kagame welcomed the current the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani on his three-day state visit to the East African country.
After reaching Kigali, Rwanda's Head of State, Paul Kagame took Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani for a tête-à-tête after which the two leaders signed four agreements in sectors of culture, sports, tourism and business events and aviation travel and logistics. The day was wrapped up with a State Dinner.
Rwanda and Qatar signed agreements between Aviation Travel and Logistics (ATL) and Qatar Airways. Paul Kagame and Emir of Qatar also had bilateral discussions on furthering areas of economic cooperation between two countries, before witnessing the signing of agreements.
According to the Emir of Qatar, his visit to Rwanda would open vast prospects for bilateral cooperation. He is heading a high-level delegation of Qatari businesspersons who came to explore business opportunities in Rwanda, according to the reports. The East African country, which is known to have vast deposits of natural methane gas beneath Lake Kivu, may court the Qataris to pump out funds in the country's energy sector.
The country is in a state to learn from Qatar how it made significant gains in strengthening non-oil sectors, such as manufacturing, construction, and financial services, leading non-oil GDP to steadily augment in recent years.
