Uber ties up with leading technology-driven mobility platform Yulu to provide users with the option to ride e-bikes and bicycles in Bengaluru. These e-bikes can clock a speed of 25 km/hr, and users don't even require a licence to ride one of these.
Using IoT as the backbone of the operation, these dockless bicycles by Yulu can be rented seamlessly on a pay-per-use basis.
The Yulu e-bikes can be unlocked with QR codes on your device, thereby enabling easy pickup and return throughout the urban centres of Bengaluru.
Uber is rolling out "Try Yulu" feature on its app for users to test these e-bikes in streets of Bengaluru.
There is no word on when or if these services will roll out in rest of India and Uber has specifically mentioned in their press release that this collaboration with Yulu is part of a pilot project.
