Dr Reddys launches generic Tobi in US market

Dr Reddys Laboratories Ltd Tuesday launched tobramycin inhalation solution, USP a therapeutic equivalent generic version of Tobi (tobramycin) inhalation solution, in the US market. The city-based pharmaceutical major, in a press release here, said the drug has been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA).

Tobi, an antibiotic that is inhaled into the lungs using a nebulizer, is used to treat lung infections in patients with cystic fibrosis, the release said. The Tobi (tobramycin) Inhalation Solution brand and generic had US sales of approximately USD 97 million MAT (moving annual turnover) for the most recent 12 months ending April 2019, the release said citing market reports.

The solution is available in a 300 mg/5 ml single-dose ampoule, it added.
