BIS grants licences to 2 different industries for 2 products

The Bureau of Indian Standards' Hyderabad branch office has granted licenses to two different industries for two products. "BIS, HyderabadBranch office has granted licenses to two different industries for the first time in India for these products," an official release said late Tuesday night.

One is Ultratech Cement Limited, Tadipatri for their product "Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag for use in Cement, Mortar and Concrete according to Indian Standard IS 16714:2018," the release said. It is used in cement, mortar, and concrete and results in an increase in the compressive strength of concrete besides enhancing resistance to chloride, alkali, and sulfates.

The other license is for Victory Mattresses Private Limited, Hyderabad for their product "Bed Mattresses according to Indian Standard IS 13489:2000," the release said. "While the consumer choices are defined by brands currently, this certification will guarantee the quality of mattresses irrespective of brand," it added.
