ServiceNow opens new India Development Centre in Hyd

ServiceNow, a global digital workflow company, plans to recruit about 1,200 people in the next nine to 12 months,a company official said here on Friday. "You can say that," Rao Surapaneni, Vice President of Engineering and Head of India Product Operations, ServiceNow, said when asked whether the company would be recruiting this number of people during the period (depending on stated expansion plans).

He was speaking after the inaugration of ServiceNow's new India Development Centre here. It will be the company's largest research and development centre in Asia and its second largest globally. The Centre was inaugurated by Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary (industries, commerce and IT), Telangana government.

The company is adding to its adding office space in Hyderabad, Surapaneni said. The Hyderabad office has about 2,000 employees currently though the number may change as the company kept hiring, Surapaneni said.

At the end of Q2 2019, ServiceNow had 9,382 employees globally, a company release said. The new India Development Centre demonstrates ServiceNow's continued commitment to and investment in India, it said.

It would play an important role in the company's innovation efforts, where employees would focus on making advancements in Artificial Intelligence and "building mobile experiences to help people work better in the future",it said. The India Development Centre would house ServiceNow teams across various functions, including product engineering, application development, product operations and management, service engineering and customer support, it said.

"We have taken a very systematic approach to scale our Hyderabad and India operations. This is a global organisation. The work they do here is helping us scale as a company," C J Desai, Chief Product Officer, ServiceNow, said.

"ServiceNow continues to grow at 35 per cent on revenues Year over Year. It is the fastest growing enterprise software company," he said..
