New Aadhaar Seva Kendra gets operational in Hisar

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) on Thursday said its new stand-alone Aadhaar Seva Kendra (ASK) has become operational in Hisar. Till now, four ASKs have become operational and three more will be made operational by next week, a statement said.

The ASKs that have become operational on dry-run basis include one in Delhi, one in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh and one in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, UIDAI said. Besides, another ASK will be made operational in Delhi at Inderlok Metro Station by month-end, while Bhopal and Chennai will be made operational by next week, as per the statement.

Patna and Guwahati ASKs would be made operational by the first week of September, according to the statement. "This is part of the UIDAI's plan to open 114 such centres in 53 cities across the country for providing hassle-free Aadhaar enrolment and update services to the people with prior appointment. UIDAI intends to complete setting up of all the 114 Aadhaar Seva Kendras by the end of the year 2019," UIDAI Chief Executive Officer Ajay Bhushan Pandey said.

These ASKs will help people in adjoining areas to avail Aadhaar enrolment and update related services in a hassle-free, secure and convenient manner, he added. These centres function along with over 35,000 Aadhaar Kendra currently being run in banks, post offices, BSNL customer centres, and other designated state government offices, he said.
