Maharashtra's nodal airport company MADC said on Friday it has alloted 50 acres of L&T Infra Projects Development Company's land to IT major TCS in Mihan SEZ following the infra major's failure to develop the land. TCS already has its campus in Mihan SEZ (Multi-modal International Cargo Hub and Airport at Nagpur), which is an airport project aimed at converting the Nagpur airport into a major cargo hub with integrated road and rail connectivity.
The Mihan SEZ comes under the Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC). "The L&T could not develop the land, which was alloted to it. At the same time, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) was interested in taking over this land parcel. The entire amount of the land was recovered as per the market rate," said Suresh Kakani, vice chairman, MADC.
Last week only, MADC signed a memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with HCL for expansion of its Mihan campus in Nagpur. HCL has acquired 90 acres of additional land in Mihan. Kakani also scotched reports in a section of media that around 109 acres of land, including 50 acres alloted to L&T was returned to MADC, saying he did not written any communication from anyone in this regard..
