After the review, Tope expressed satisfaction with the preparation of the staff and arrangements made at the airport to deal with the coronavirus situation. Thousands of passengers coming from the coronavirus- affected countries have been screened at the aerodrome in the last two months.

During this period, several passengers showing symptoms similar to the Covid-19 infection have been sent to isolation wards. The number of Covid-19 patients in Maharashtra currently stands at 47, the highest for any state affected by the disease.
