Amid allegations of inflated scores in the NEET-UG medical entrance exam, the National Testing Agency (NTA) announced on Saturday that the education ministry has established a four-member panel to review the grace marks awarded to over 1,500 candidates.
Denying any irregularities, the NTA attributed higher scores to changes in NCERT textbooks and compensatory grace marks for lost time at exam centers.
The issue has taken a political turn with the AAP calling for a Supreme Court-monitored SIT probe and the Congress alleging widespread exam corruption. The results of more than 1,500 candidates are now under review by a high-powered committee, though the NTA insists the qualifying criteria remain unaffected.
