Kerala Government Orders Probe into Brutal Ragging Incident at Wayanad School

The Kerala government on Saturday initiated a thorough investigation into a disturbing ragging complaint at a state-operated school in Wayanad district. Sabarinathan, a 10th-grade student, alleged he was violently attacked with scissors by classmates.
Subsequently hospitalized for his injuries, the incident has prompted swift action. General Education Minister V Sivankutty has mandated a departmental inquiry, led by Joint Director of Education (Academics) A Aboobakar, to comprehensively probe the matter. A detailed report is anticipated soon.
The minister has also called on the Deputy Director of Education (Wayanad) to personally visit the school, meet the injured student and his family. In furtherance, Minister Sivankutty has already discussed the issue with the Wayanad police superintendent and engaged with the student's mother and the PTA president.
