Jayant Chaudhary and Sukanta Majumdar Take Charge in Education Ministry

Union Ministers Jayant Chaudhary and Sukanta Majumdar took charge on Tuesday, with Chaudhary overseeing the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship as an Independent Charge, while Majumdar took charge in the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region. Both emphasized their commitment to transforming the education sector.

Union Ministers Jayant Chaudhary and Sukanta Majumdar officially assumed their new roles on Tuesday. Chaudhary, who has also been given Independent Charge of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and Majumdar, who will also oversee the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, highlighted their ambitions for the education sector.

'Our youth is our strength! The NDA government will continue to invest in empowering future generations! Honored to have a role in significantly transforming the education sector,' Chaudhary expressed on X. Meanwhile, West Bengal BJP President Sukanta Majumdar sought the blessings of senior party leader Dilip Ghosh before taking charge.

'Assumed charge as MoS Education today. Inspired by the visionary leadership of PM Modi and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, I am eager to contribute towards transforming the education sector,' wrote Majumdar on X. Chaudhary, grandson of India's fifth Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh, joined the NDA before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections after BJP honored his grandfather with Bharat Ratna. Under Chaudhary's leadership, RLD won two seats in western Uttar Pradesh, while Majumdar retained Balurghat Lok Sabha seat for the second term after his tenure as a Botany professor and his involvement with the RSS.
