Supreme Court Seeks Probe into NEET-UG 2024 Irregularities

The Supreme Court requested responses from the Centre, the National Testing Agency, and others on petitions regarding the NEET-UG 2024 exam, amid allegations of irregularities. While staying proceedings in High Courts, the apex court did not halt the counselling process. All related pleas are set for a July 8 hearing.

The Supreme Court on Thursday called for responses from the Centre, the National Testing Agency (NTA), and other entities on multiple petitions that include demands to scrap the NEET-UG 2024 exam and initiate a court-monitored probe as allegations of irregularities cast a shadow over the nationwide medical entrance test.

The apex court simultaneously ordered a stay on related proceedings in various high courts but made it clear the counselling process will continue unimpeded.

A vacation bench of Justices Vikram Nath and SVN Bhatti issued notices on several pleas while clarifying that all arguments will be heard on July 8.
