Latur School Teacher Remanded Over NEET Exam Irregularities

A court in Latur city, Maharashtra, on Tuesday remanded a Zilla Parishad school teacher, Sanjay Jadhav, in police custody until July 2 over alleged NEET-UG exam irregularities. Jadhav, detained for questioning the previous day, was produced in the chief judicial magistrate's court.

Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) investigations have so far led to the arrest of school headmaster Jalil Khan Umar Khan Pathan and the detention of Jadhav, revealing a racket run by at least four individuals to assist NEET students willing to pay for a leaked exam paper.

The case, registered under the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, involves two other accused: Iranna Mashnaji Kongalwar, who served as a mediator, and Gangadhar, believed to be in Delhi. The Centre has transferred the probe to the CBI, which has now filed an FIR.
