Telangana CM Pushes for Better Education Quality in Engineering Colleges

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy urged private engineering colleges to improve education quality, aiming to enhance job opportunities for students. Speaking at an interaction programme, Reddy emphasized the need for colleges to contribute to society and promised government support, including fee reimbursements and filling job vacancies promptly.

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Saturday called on private engineering colleges to elevate the quality of education provided to enhance job and livelihood prospects for students.

Reddy emphasized during an interaction programme on quality engineering education at the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) that engineering colleges should not serve as factories producing unemployed youth.

He assured that the government would assist colleges in upgrading the education standard, highlighting that the engineering colleges should equip students to make notable societal contributions rather than focusing solely on job-oriented courses.

The government will take necessary steps to reimburse college fees annually according to the student tuition fees reimbursement policy, and will also clear pending dues. Reddy stressed the importance of traditional courses like civil and mechanical engineering for the country's infrastructure development.

Addressing protests demanding the postponement of competitive exams, Reddy alleged political forces and coaching centers were behind them, and announced that the government would release a 'job calendar' to promptly fill vacancies.
