Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU) has made a controversial move by eliminating lunch breaks from its student timetable. Consequently, the institution has faced significant backlash from students.

In a recent notification, DSEU announced the removal of the half-hour lunch break (12:30 pm to 1 pm) to implement a centralized timetable aligning with the National Education Policy 2020. Joint Director (Academics) Kamna Sachdeva indicated that students are expected to make do with short intervals during classes.

'It is not required to put the half-hour lunch break in the schedule. We have asked directors of every campus to give a lunch break if their timetable slot permits. Students can be freed five minutes early from their class to have lunch,' Sachdeva told PTI. The new schedule aims to help students attend classes at any nearby DSEU campus and minimize time spent on campus.
